Three U.S. tech worker groups have launched a labor boycott of IBM, Infosys and Manpower, saying the companies have engaged in a pattern that discourages U.S. workers from applying for U.S. IT jobs by tailoring employment ads toward overseas workers.
Local employers in sectors including IT are holding off on making firm growth plans due to new global financial uncertainty, according to a Q4 Manpower employment outlook survey. The survey of over 640 employers indicates hiring intentions for the next three months have slowed down. The seasonally adjusted net employment outlook is at 16 percent, a slight decrease from last quarter’s 17 percent.
Employer hiring activity is expected to climb back to a pre-recession pace in the third quarter, according to the latest Manpower employment outlook survey.
Manpower Professional says difficulty finding ICT staff during the recession is continuing as the market picks up.
