  • Susan Searle

President of Innovation, IDG Communications APAC

Susan Searle is president and publisher of ARN and Reseller News. She has been in IT media with IDG Communications for over 30 years. In 1987 Susan became Computerworld’s publisher before extending her leadership to other IDG titles including Reseller magazine in 1995. Renamed Australian Reseller News, this brand became synonymous with the delivery of information about the Australian channel and the ICT industry. Three years later Reseller News was launched in New Zealand. ARN is now delivered in print, digitally via arnnet, electronically via e–newsletters and via mobile. Reseller News is New Zealand’s most prestigious online IT website. Susan launched the ARN ICT Industry Awards as part of ARN’s event portfolio in 2007. The Awards Celebration Dinner has become the must-attend event in the Australian ICT calendar, attracting over 650 people each year. From these Awards, the ARN Hall of Fame was established to recognise long term commitment and professionalism of leaders of the ICT channel. Now 23 members strong, this panel of industry experts represents over 300 years of industry experience and excellence. Susan will go on to launch the Reseller News ICT Industry Awards in October 2015. In 2012, Susan launched the ARN Women in ICT Awards (WIICTA) to celebrate female excellence and affirm the importance of gender diversity in the ICT industry. Subsequently she has been asked to speak at industry and gender diversity forums on the road to leadership for women in ICT. In 2015, EDGE will be launched as an ANZ channel conference with 200 industry attendees over a 4 day destination event. Susan believes this will be an industry first - bringing the cross Tasman channel community together for an independent event.
