Business Continuity Asia Pacific Announces New Additions to the Double-Take® Workload Optimisation Suite

Workload management of data migration, availability, backup and recovery systems for complex IT environments have been simplified with the release, by Australian sole distributor Business Continuity Asia Pacific (BCAP), of new products to the Double-Take® Workload Optimisation Suite.

The new additions to the Workload Optimisation Suite include - Double-Take® Move 5.2, Double-Take® Flex 5.2, Double-Take® Backup 5.2 and Double-Take® Availability 5.2 – and address the management of hardware, operating systems, applications and data that underpins the IT backbone of Australian organisations.

Viktor Babkov, managing director of BCAP and sole distributor for Double-Take Software in Australia believes the increased adoption of Australian businesses to a virtualised environment has resulted in IT infrastructures becoming more difficult to manage, and day-to-day business operations becoming more critical.

“Now more than ever, Australian businesses are realising the importance of protecting against unforeseen failures and outages as well as looking for ways to reduce workload administration so their staff can concentrate on other more relevant tasks,” said Mr. Babkov.

“So, for example with our new Double-Take Backup 5.2, companies will find it easier to continuously protect a remote or branch office’s workloads in the event of an outage. This software also allows a company to get its workloads back up and running rapidly by recovering them to new physical hardware or into new virtual machines with minimal effort,” added Mr. Babkov.

The new additions to the Workload Optimisation Suite have been simplified and enhanced with new features, functionality and licensing options. These product offerings are affordable, simple to use, and allow IT managers to easily migrate, backup, protect and have more flexibility to run physical and virtual workloads across their enterprises, regardless of hardware or location.

“ We believe these new products are a perfect fit for customers looking for a single unified management to improve high availability, data protection, disk to disk backup and or easily perform physical or virtual server migrations,” added Mr. Babkov.

Key features of the products include;

* Double-Take Backup version 5.2 allows for continuous backing up of workloads and recovery on-demand to a new physical or virtual machine. Using CDP capabilities, recovery can also be done at the item level to any point in time. * Double-Take Availability version 5.2 adds exciting new application-aware monitoring capabilities, enhances its protection of Microsoft SQL environments and introduces a new way of re-synchronising protected data which can intelligently keep track of what data changed while replication was suspended, dramatically reducing re-synchronisation times compared to competing solutions. * Double-Take Move version 5.2 now comes with full VMware vSphereTM 4 support, allowing it to seamlessly interface with the VMware platform as well as allowing users to operate on the latest available releases of VMware products and have real-time, lightning-fast P2P, P2V, V2P, and V2V migrations with little to no downtime. * Double-Take Flex version 5.2 makes it easier to manage any workload by booting it from iSCSI SANs, regardless of hardware.

“Double-Take Software is continuously innovating to bring new approaches to disaster recovery. The new additions to our 5.2 portfolio- Double-Take Backup, Double-Take Availability, Double-Take Flex and Double-Take Move - provide businesses with important functionality that will help them protect against disaster and round out a suite of products that play essential roles in disaster recovery and business continuity,” Dean Goodermote, President and CEO of Double-Take Software

“Double-Take Software is making it simple for businesses to have comprehensive disaster recovery and business continuity plans in place with its Workload Optimisation suite of products. By combining its existing features and functionality with new updates, the company is providing a compelling suite of products for data migration, flexibility, backup and availability,” said Laura DuBois, Analyst at IDC.

Double-Take software has over 19,000 customers and 190,000 licenses across the globe with a number of well-known enterprise level customers in ANZ. Business Continuity Asia Pacific is the sole distributor for Double-Take software in ANZ. ###
