Salmat Skills Optimiser™ Named “eLearning System of 2009” at Prestigious eLearning Industry Association Awards Night

Sydney, 9 November 2009 - Salmat Limited (ASX:SLM), Australia's leading one-to-one communication organisation, today announced that its eLearning and talent management solution, Skills Optimiser™, was named “eLearning System of 2009” at last week’s prestigious eLearning Industry Association Awards night. The company was also a finalist in two other categories: “Accredited vocational, educational and training sector blended learning program” and “Best K-12 (schools) program”.

The annual awards recognise innovation in eLearning design and development within the past 12 months and are judged on each project's quantifiable benefits, design, effectiveness of delivery and quality of content.

Salmat's Skills Optimiser helps managers, administrators and trainers to more effectively develop their staff skill base by combining role profiles and training needs analyses with quick training access.

The software uses role profiles, skill sets and skills as part of a competency based framework, identifying the key competencies and associated skills that employees require in their current role and as part of their broader career development. The software then maps out the training, assessment materials and performance analysis required for each skill.

Built-in training needs analysis functionality supports trainers and managers as they conduct competency reviews. The software provides information about observable behaviours if a skill competency is present and contains links of assigned training, assessment and coaching material for all skills being reviewed. Skills Optimiser automatically informs learners via email when a training needs analysis has been completed and keeps a history of all training needs analyses that have been conducted.

The system also provides detailed reports about learner and team performance which help to identify where skill gaps may exist within an organisation.

Delivered by Salmat via a web portal, the Skills Optimiser can be accessed by learners and managers from home and remote locations.

Released to the market in 2004, Skills Optimiser is now in use in over 50 locations/organisations across six countries. Clients include Vodafone New Zealand, Origin Energy, Bakers Delight, Jardine Lloyd Thompson and SuperPartners.
