IronPort Systems Introduces X1000 to Power Email & Protect Customers from Fraud

World’s Most Powerful Email Security Appliance, First to Include DomainKeys Technology

Michael Bosch, Managing Director of IronPort Systems, Australia, New Zealand and South Africa has announced local availability of his company’s new X1000 email security appliance. The X1000 is the company’s most powerful email security offering yet and the market’s first such to integrate Yahoo! DomainKeys. The IronPort X1000 can process email messages 10 times more efficiently than traditional UNIX-based mail servers and increases system throughput by 400 per cent.

Carrier-Grade Power, Enterprise Management Tools AsyncOS, IronPort’s high performance operating system, ensures that enterprise email systems are never overwhelmed, even during the largest virus or spam attacks. IronPort’s new X1000 platform showcases the power and performance of AsyncOS in addition to providing unique tools for managing email security. The scalability of IronPort’s platform allows enterprises to reduce the number of mail transport agent (MTA) servers needed in their network by a 10-to-one ratio. This translates to operational savings and improved reliability.

“IronPort is committed to fixing email. We provide the world’s largest enterprises and ISPs with the technology to protect their customers. Powering these networks means we have the ability to make a dramatic leap forward in fighting email fraud,” said Tom Gillis, SVP Worldwide Marketing for IronPort Systems. “IronPort is the only vendor that has the inbound security features as well as the robust email deliverability features to address all of their issues.”

“Yahoo! is encouraged by IronPort’s decision to deploy DomainKeys, demonstrating the company’s commitment to fighting e-mail forgery, while enhancing the protection major internet banks, retailers and other organisations can provide their customers,” said Miles Libbey, anti-spam product manager, Yahoo! Mail. “Yahoo! Mail users can be confident that the e-mail messages they receive from IronPort appliances have been verified as legitimate and are not a phishing attack.”

On top of this carrier-grade platform, IronPort has developed sophisticated management tools that allow email administrators to control a global deployment. Centralised reporting and management, as well as IronPort’s unique Mail Flow Monitor and Email Security Manager make complex administration tasks become easy. This powerful combination of performance and features is why IronPort is deployed at 8 of the 10 largest ISPs, and 20 per cent of the world's largest enterprises.

Business Protect Their Customers with Yahoo! DomainKeys Technology Today’s businesses rely on email to communicate with their customers and yet, email continues to be under attack from new and evolving threats such as phishing which has had a dramatic effect on efficacy of communication. Phishing occurs when spammers and other unscrupulous people forge email to draw consumers to phony websites created to deceive recipients into divulging financial data such as ATM and credit card numbers, account passwords and social security numbers. With DomainKeys, Yahoo! Has increased user protection from spammers who forge their identity as a tactic to steal their personal financial information.
