Sydney, Australia, 25 October 2004 – Zultys Technologies today announced the Zultys Information Center, a text-to-speech solution that allows VoIP system users to have web site or intranet content spoken to them over the phone. The new text-to-speech framework, available with the Zultys MX250 IP PBX, enables resellers to offer customised text-to-speech applications to their VoIP enterprise customers.
The Zultys Information Center has been created as a way for Zultys to demonstrate to its customers and channel partners the capabilities of text-to-speech applications. Value added resellers (VARs) can approach their customers and help them implement solutions that meet their specific needs. For example, a real estate agent could set up phone numbers that customers could call to access details on homes listed for sale. A university department that regularly posts homework assignments to a web site could set up a number for students to call and have those assignments read to them over the phone. The demand for productivity-enhancing services such as these, present VARs with tremendous opportunities to demonstrate value to their customers and ultimately secure ongoing revenue streams.

Though other vendors have created text-to-speech applications prior to this, Zultys is the first to integrate this powerful feature with a standards based IP telephony system. The new framework can be easily managed from one central administrative interface, along with all of the other PBX and collaboration features such as voice mail, fax, presence, instant messaging, etc. As with all of Zultys’ products, the new Zultys Information Center is based entirely on open standards, including HTTP and VoiceXML. This makes it easy for VARs to customise applications for a customer’s unique needs and to integrate with existing network infrastructures.
