Plumtree Introduces Integrated Activity Management Applications And Delivers Java And .NET Product Parity
SYDNEY Australia, 3 November, 2004 -- Plumtree Software (Nasdaq: PLUM) has introduced an expanded company charter aimed at delivering composite applications that allow employees, customers and partners of an enterprise to collaborate across systems, platforms and business boundaries.
Named Integrated Activity Management (IAM) applications, these applications coordinate the collaborative activities and human-driven processes that fall between the gaps of traditional packaged applications. Enhancements to Plumtree's technology platform now allow companies to be more agile by giving them the means to quickly and cost-effectively assemble targeted applications to respond to business challenges and opportunities.
Forrester Research estimates that the market for composite applications will grow to $US1-1.5 billion by approximately 2007 and many composite applications will focus on people-oriented processes: "Composite applications will support people-oriented processes that span functional silos and organisational boundaries, using the portal as the predominant user interface and offering up rich business intelligence to support decision-making," wrote Nate Root in a recent report, Your Intranet and Extranet Are Obsolete.
"Business leaders are demanding that IT departments deliver targeted applications to solve business problems quickly, at low cost and with low complexity to the end user," said Plumtree Managing Director, Asia/Pacific Region, Dean Stockwell.
"Composite applications can fulfill this need, allowing companies to combine data and services from many different systems. Plumtree has gone one step further by architecting our suite to host composite applications that co-mingle internal and external audiences, collaborative workspaces and human-driven processes that make up the bulk of workers' day-to-day activities. These Integrated Activity Management applications empower companies to meet business challenges faster and more effectively."
Stockwell continued, "In steadfast commitment to being the most open framework for delivering composite applications, we've also delivered both Java and .NET versions of our suite, added desktop and personal productivity tools integration to our Content and Collaboration Servers, and are offering Web services-based programming interfaces across our product line."
