Homegrown Awards

The Homegrown Innovators Awards recognise New Zealand made excellence in the ICT market.

The Homegrown Innovators Awards recognise New Zealand-made excellence in the ICT industry, with two awards honouring the Service Provider and ISV communities. The awards highlight local excellence and ingenuity on a national level recognising companies which have established their businesses domestically as start-ups (rather than being a multi-national subsidiary).

The Service Provider award recognises an IT partner who provides a service (for example, managed, hosted, network, storage, application) to customers. At least 80 per cent of their revenue comes from providing services – and the service provider has a billing model that delivers a constant recurring revenue stream.

The ISV award recognises an organisation that specialises in all facets associated with the software development process (for example, research, design, development, testing of software and/or applications).

The Cloud Partner award recognises the solution provider that is helping customers transition to the Cloud, thereby eliminating the overhead and capital expenditures that comes with the on-premise environment. With Cloud now mainstream, the shift from a traditional on-premise solution provider model to a Cloud-based services model is in full swing and a top business trend. The winning Partner can be offering a full range of Cloud solutions or a mix of hybrid offerings in a bid to address customer demands.

These awards will be presented this year:

  • Service Provider
  • Independent Software Vendor
  • Cloud Partner
  • Distributor

Entrepreneurship Awards

Entrepreneurship is an important engine of growth in the New Zealand channel industry, with the RN ICT Awards keen to honour those individuals behind the scenes who contribute to their company’s customer, technical or sales triumphs.

The Entrepreneurship category awards are open to individuals from vendor, distributor and reseller companies.

In 2017, we will be presenting four awards to outstanding individuals:

  • Channel Manager
  • Technical Excellence
  • Management Excellence
  • Sales Excellence

Vendor Awards

The Vendor Awards recognise high-achieving technology organisations for business excellence and channel enablement.

These awards stretch across hardware, software, telecommunications and Cloud technology players. Vendors will be judged by the Judging Panel on delivering high-class and innovative product sets, innovative channel rewards, training and marketing programs and above-par support.

Five awards will be presented in 2017:

  • Hardware Vendor
  • Software Vendor
  • Specialist Vendor
  • Cloud Vendor
  • Telecommunications Vendor

Distributor Awards

The Distributor Awards recognise distributors best representing vendors and enabling partners to succeed.

Nominees will be judged on their abilities around credit, logistics, marketing and services initiatives.

Four awards will be presented in 2017:

  • Hardware Distributor
  • Software Distributor
  • Cloud Distributor
  • Best Distributor Initiative

Community Awards

The community awards recognise companies and individuals going above and beyond to give back to the community.

The Sustainability Award recognises a company that has worked hard to minimise its customers’, and its own, impact on the environment.

The Corporate Citizenship Award goes to a company that is actively working with charities, undertaking philanthropic initiatives and using its resources and capabilities for the betterment of mankind.

RN will also recognise an individual who has been fighting the good fight. The Channel Champion Award will go to an individual who has, outside of his or her daily working life, been heavily involved in charities, non-profits or personal philanthropy.

Three awards will be presented this year:

  • Sustainability
  • Corporate Citizenship
  • Channel Champion
