Epson unveils new lower-priced 1080p projector

Epson America has introduced a new High Definition (HD) digital projector that it claims is the industry's first to be released below US$2000. The PowerLite Home Cinema 6100 costs $1999 and is slated for a November release.

Platinum Solitaire for iPhone

Platinum Solitaire is certainly more limited in scope than some other solitaire games for the Mac — it has six games, including "traditional" solitaire (Klondike), Golf, FreeCell, Pyramid, Spider and Yukon. Sony offers wireless iPod speaker system

Sony has introduced its S-Air Play sound system for the iPod. The S-Airplay is a wireless multi-room music system with prices starting at $400 — that includes two wireless speaker systems. It will be available beginning in September.

Intel offers USB 3.0 draft spec

Intel has released part of the draft specification of Universal Serial Bus (USB) 3.0, the next major revision to the peripheral interface standard used throughout the computing world. The company has provided information on the Extensive Host Controller Interface (xHCI) to members of its USB 3.0 Promoter Group, made up of HP, Intel, Microsoft, NEC, and others.

Logitech to acquire Ultimate Ears

Logitech on Thursday announced plans to acquire Ultimate Ears, the maker of in-ear monitors and consumer earphones. The deal is valued at US$34 million in cash, and is expected to close by the end of August.

Sanyo offers 'Superbright' LCD projectors
