Former Aura Information Security executive Mark Keegan has launched security consulting firm SEQA in Wellington.
With other two offices, one in Auckland and one in Christchurch, SEQA provides cyber security expertise to test organisations and their systems so that they are aware of what cyber risks they face and recommendations on how to remove those risks.
Keegan, who founded Aura Information Security acquired by Kordia in 2016, operates as SEQA's managing director and counts on Reg Prasad and Andrew Johnston as the company's board directors and Ray Philpott as chairman.
SEQA offers application penetration test, network penetration test, vulnerability assessments, password audit, threat modelling, build and configuration reviews, cyber training, advisory and compliance services.
The company claims to employ "highly-skilled" information security professionals and also counts on experienced freelance consultants.
“SEQA integrates security into quality assurance programmes enabling your business to deploy resilient new business initiatives,” Keegan said.
“Traditionally security has been viewed as a specialist function that sits aside from other functional and non-functional project activities. However, with rapid development and continual deployment a cultural change is necessary that makes the resiliency of solutions the responsibility of everyone within a project team.
“We aim to reduce security risks by building in expertise by default rather than simply being an afterthought,” Keegan added.
The company claims customers across government, corporate and medium-sized business.
