SAP appoints new NZ managing director

Phil Cameron succeeds Graeme Riley who departs after almost 10 years

SAP has appointed Phil Cameron as managing director of SAP in New Zealand, replacing the long-serving Graeme Riley.

Cameron - not to be confused with current managing director of Westcon-Comstor Australia - succeeds Riley who departed the software giant after a long tenure spanning almost 10 years.

With his appointment, Cameron will be responsible for all customer operations in New Zealand, while also joining the vendor's Australia and New Zealand (A/NZ) leadership team, reporting directly to Damien Bueno.

"The success of our business in New Zealand is crucial to the success of the A/NZ market unit,” said Damien Bueno, president and managing director of SAP A/NZ. "New Zealand is home to some of our most strategic customers, and a first-class team of SAP employees.

"Phil Cameron is a proven leader, and I look forward to working with him to continue driving a customer focused business and delivering meaningful and lasting social impact in New Zealand."

Cameron joined SAP Australia for the second time in 2015 to assume responsibility for the vendor's relationship with the New South Wales Government.

Prior to this, he held senior leadership positions in the technology industry in both New Zealand and Australia, including as CEO of SAP partner Innogence, as senior manager for Deloitte in New Zealand, and as client partner for SAP in Queensland.

“There is a huge opportunity for SAP and our partner ecosystem in New Zealand, as it is the home to some of our most strategic customers who are at the forefront of technology innovation,” Cameron said.

“I look forward to returning home to New Zealand to work with our customers and partners on their innovation challenges and seeing what impact we can deliver for New Zealand and beyond.”

Cameron has also served as an officer in the Royal New Zealand Air Force and is a chartered accountant with the Institute of Chartered Accountants A/NZ.
