Spark signs up with BroadSoft to deliver cloud suite to SMBs

BroadCloud calling platform aims to offer Spark customers a “complete suite” of services

Spark has signed a partnership with BroadSoft in New Zealand to offer Spark Cloud Phone powered by the BroadCloud calling platform to small and medium businesses (SMBs).

Terms of the deal will see the telco giant provide a software-as-a-service (SaaS) service delivery platform, allowing the quick deployment of a unified communications solution through an OPEX delivery model.

Alternatively, the BroadCloud calling platform aims to offer Spark customers a “complete suite” of services based on the BroadSoft UC-One application.

Specifically, this includes instant messaging and presence (IM&P), hosted voice, mobile client support, a full-featured soft client for computing devices, desktop and file sharing, as well as virtual meeting rooms and voice and video conferencing.

“We are very pleased to be working with Spark in New Zealand to bring their cloud UC offering to market on BroadCloud,” Cisco Cloud Calling managing director of worldwide sales, Jonathan Reid, said.

“Spark has outstanding reach in the New Zealand market and a world class engineering team behind the new Spark Cloud Phone product line. We look forward to working closely with them as they bring the new service to market in the first half of this year.”

Now part of Cisco, BroadSoft specialises in cloud and unified communications technologies, spanning team collaboration and contact centre solutions.

“Our business customers tell us they need a feature-rich calling solution that helps improve collaboration and can easily scale as their business needs change,” Spark head of business marketing, Sally Gordon, added.

“We believe Cloud Phone will deliver that for them and help give their business an edge.”

The deal comes less than a week after Dimension Data and Spark Wholesale signed a “long-term” strategic partnership in New Zealand, in a move designed to provide combined networking capabilities for customers.

As reported by Reseller News, the partnership will aim to deliver "network reliability and resilience" to local organisations, while providing “significant commercial benefits” in the process.
