Data insights and integration are driving a wave of change in healthcare
Primary health network ProCare is driving operational efficiencies and enhancing engagement through a data-led patient assessment and reporting portal that links its content management system to patient records.
The upgraded members website, enabled by Spark-owned data specialist Qrious, includes an interactive web portal that reports actual versus target performance against key quality metrics.
"By linking our CMS to patient records in a secure compliant way that protects the privacy of patients, our members can now use a live, digital dashboard to drill down into the metrics and see where action needs to be taken," ProCare CFO and GM corporate services Tony Wai said.
Procare is New Zealand's largest primary health network, with 180 GPs, nurses and general practice teams, providing community-based healthcare to more than 800,000 people in the Auckland region.
“More and more, our members are using this kind of live data in everyday activities, as well as to guide major decision-making in their health practices, and we are really seeing the results from these actionable insights," said Wai.
Technology is driving a wave of change in primary healthcare. Auckland-based shared services operation HealthAlliance, for instance, is deploying robotic process automation to boost its efficiency, while the local health IT sector is also thriving.
Qrious CEO David Leach said data solutions such as Procare's are able to deliver actionable analytics to frontline health professionals.
