Cisco strikes cloud deal with ConnectWise to boost services play

Offering allows streamlining and simplification of services based on cloud-managed technologies

Cisco has joined forces with ConnectWise in the channel, in a move designed to accelerate managed services sales through cloud-based solutions.

Under the banner of ConnectWise Unite with Cisco, the offering allows the streamlining and simplification of services based on cloud-managed technologies, spanning networking, collaboration and security.

Revealed on the opening day of Cisco Partner Summit 2017 in Dallas, the portal provides a single interface and software tools to help partners and managed service providers (MSPs) manage business commerce operations, while standing up managed IT services.

Despite immediate availability in North America, and Western and Northern Europe, partners across Australia and New Zealand will have to wait a little longer, with a broader, global roll-out planned in early 2018.

“There is a proliferation of customers turning to MSPs to assist them in managing their IT environments, addressing their expanding security requirements, and helping them create a competitive advantage,” Cisco vice president of partner solutions, architectures and engineering, Nirav Sheth said.

“Our collaboration with ConnectWise provides our channel partners with an opportunity to drive long-term recurring revenues by rapidly building a managed services practice and accelerating their sales revenues through a suite of Cisco services from ConnectWise.

“By allowing MSPs to automate time-consuming billing and solution management processes from a single pane of glass, ConnectWise Unite with Cisco enables partners to scale their services in the marketplace and help maximise their profitability.”

Sheth said the offering also allows Cisco partners that are developing or expanding a managed service practice to create new solutions, leveraging Meraki, Spark, Umbrella and Stealthwatch Cloud technologies.

From a partner perspective, added features include the simplification of gateways required to manage, monitor, and bill customers, allowing MSPs to consolidate tools and offerings.
