Asnet Technologies has capitalised on growing interest within the interactive whiteboard market, selling the first Microsoft Surface Hub in New Zealand.
As an authorised Microsoft reseller, the Auckland-based partner struck a deal with an unnamed business in Wellington, following its availability in region earlier this year.
“The interest has been considerable from both corporate and government sectors,” Asnet Technologies Microsoft Surface Hub sales lead, Paul Thompson, said.
Fresh from striking the deal, Thompson said interest continues to increase around the Surface Hub, which comes in an 84-inch, 4K touch-screen display model and a smaller 55-inch model.
As a result, Asnet continues to hold onsite demonstrations in its Wellington office to cater for demand.
“It was great to introduce the Microsoft Surface Hub to the Wellington enterprise and government community,” Microsoft Asia Pacific Surface Hub sales lead, Paul Dolley, added.
“One attendee even flew in from Christchurch, which was fantastic. The interest in the Surface Hub has been huge across Asia Pacific and we are expecting a large volume of orders over the next twelve months.”
Originally unveiled to the market in January 2015, the device is designed to establish Microsoft’s dominance within the videoconference market, a market currently hotly contested with Cisco.
As a Microsoft partner, Asnet Technologies provides audio and video conferencing solutions across New Zealand, working with customers in government, education and health.
