Oracle, IBM and EMC veteran takes top A/NZ job at Software AG

Gordon Gakovic - Managing Director of Australia and New Zealand, Software AG
Software AG has appointed Gordon Gakovic as Managing Director for its Australia and New Zealand operations, an industry veteran who also served Oracle, IBM and EMC.
Based in Melbourne, Gakovic is responsible for managing and executing Software AG’s commercial initiatives and marketing strategies for the trans-Tasman market.
Reporting to Stanimira Koleva, Chief Operating Officer of Asia Pacific and Japan at Software AG, Gakovic will also focus on strengthening and expanding the company’s footprint across the region.
“Throughout his career, Gordon has demonstrated outstanding leadership and has an excellent track record of helping companies transform their IT infrastructure and grow their business,” Koleva says.
“We are delighted to have Gakovic in this new and expanded role, and I am confident that his leadership and results-driven approach will serve to further fuel Software AG’s ambitious plans across Australia and New Zealand, and lead the team to new heights.”
Gakovic joined Software AG in 2013 as National Sales Director, bringing over 25 years of experience in the Asia Pacific ICT market. Prior to Software AG, he served in various positions at Oracle, IBM and EMC.

In addition, Software AG also announced the appointment of Michael Cross as Industry Solution Director and Ron van Rooij, as Director Solution Business Development, with responsibilities across Asia Pacific.
Both will work closely with Koleva and Gakovic to help bolster the company’s footprint across Asia Pacific, as well as lead the effort of co-innovation and digital transformation with strategic customers in Asia Pacific and Japan region.
