Former SAP exec assumes IBM’s local channel leadership role

IBM has announced the appointment of Rhody Burton as Director, Global Business Partners, IBM Australia and New Zealand.
Burton will join IBM’s local management team and report directly to Kerry Purcell, Managing Director for Australia and New Zealand.
In this role Burton will lead IBM’s channel strategy and the transformation to a ‘One Channel Team’ - this new go-to-market model is designed to bring simplicity to the channel and help partners more effectively leverage IBM’s portfolio of Cloud, Analytics, Mobile, Social and Security solutions.

Burton brings nearly 20 years’ worth of experience and local knowledge to the role, which will see her work closely with IBM’s large partner network to grow their business and help them solve clients’ challenges across lines of business and industry.
Burton was previously Sales Director, Channels, Australia and New Zealand with SAP.
In this role Burton successfully restructured the organisation and drove greater customer awareness and preference.
Prior to this Burton spent over six years at VMware A/NZ in a variety of channel facing roles - Burton has also previously held roles at Business Objects, Crystal Decisions and Seagate Software.
