Schneider Electric partners with Waterfall on cybersecurity

Schneider Electric has entered into a partnership with Waterfall Security Solutions to provide cybersecurity technologies to its customers.
Waterfall specialises in critical infrastructure and industrial control systems security, and Schneider Electric Collaborative Automation Partner Program (CAPP) deployment director, Loic Regnier, said the deal will result in better security for today’s industrial control system networks.
“Recognised in the industry by analysts and customers alike, Waterfall brings advanced capabilities for our customers, and contribute to help build complete customer solutions by us,” he said.
Regnier said it is important for industrial customers to have access to more advanced cybersecurity technologies to protect their assets.
“In the face of increasingly sophisticated cyber-attack capabilities, protecting the safety and reliability of customers is a priority for both Waterfall and Schneider Electric,” he said.
With Waterfall becoming a CAPP member, Schneider Electric cybersecurity program director, David Doggett, claims customers in more than 200 countries will now have access to state-of-the-art cybersecurity protection.
“Schneider Electric’s partnership with Waterfall is the next step in our commitment to assist customers in operating secure systems by complementing our secure core offer with best in class partners,” he said.
Waterfall’s “stronger-than-firewall” solutions have been selected for their ability to improve control-system network security, as well as simplifying the compliance process with industrial cybersecurity standards and best-practices.
Sectors such as electric power, water, and oil and gas are currently using Waterfall’s Unidirectional Security Gateway, a technology which Doggett said Schneider Electric also intends to leverage from the partnership.
