WhiteGold partners LogRhythm to plug gap in security play

WhiteGold Solutions has signed a distribution partnership with LogRhythm to plug the remaining gap in its security portfolio.
LogRhythm is a newcomer to the Australian and New Zealand (A/NZ) market from a logistical standpoint, having established a local presence in February with aspirations of 100 per cent per annum growth for the region. It previously served customers down under via its Asia-Pacific and US offices.
The vendor owns a security intelligence platform which merges security information and event management (SIEM), log management, file integrity monitoring, and network and host forensics.
WhiteGold commercial director, Leigh Howard, told ARN the Australian value-added distributor had no SIEM player under its wing prior, a gap he claims it had recognised for some time.
He said the addition of LogRhythm completes a portfolio which has been crafted to provide a complete solution of disruptive technologies for resellers to take to market while avoiding conflict of interest among its vendors.
The philosophy is a long-standing one within WhiteGold; it made similar moves earlier this year with the appointments of A10 Networks and IGEL Technology to grow its security and datacentre rosters, respectively.
“We want fast-growing, challenger brands, not legacy market leaders that are broad-based,” Howard said.
WhiteGold learned of LogRhythm from a pre-existing relationship between Howard and the security vendor’s recently-appointed A/NZ sales director, Simon Howe; the two had worked together at different companies in the past.
Howe was hired by LogRhythm when it made its move down under. He is currently running the company’s local operations with responsibility for developing a channel of security-focused partners. He is accompanied by senior technical engineer, Ian Gilchrist, who is LogRhythm’s only other employee in A/NZ at this stage; the company will introduce new technical and sales staff in the next six to 12 months.
Commenting on the partnership, Howe said, “WhiteGold has established relationships with resellers we work with and also channel partners we are targeting. We are also a complementary fit with WhiteGold’s vendor portfolio.”
LogRhythm selected the distributor over its competitors for its trans-Tasman presence and experience in delivering security to the banking, financial services, and federal and state government sectors, which represent the vendor’s target verticals.
LogRhythm’s 100 per cent channel model in A/NZ will be supported with the introduction of its Thrive Partner Program to the local market via WhiteGold. Thrive offers partners collateral resources alongside full sales and technical training, as well as an online portal featuring modules and enablement resources.
The WhiteGold partnership adds to LogRhythm's long-standing distribution agreement with Lan1, which is signed in 2011 for the APAC region.
