EMC appoints new GM for Australia and New Zealand

Ingram Micro has taken home EMC’s Distributor of the Year award at the the 2013 Business Partner Awards, held at Sydney’s Quay Restaurant.
The awards ceremony recognised the storage vendor’s highest-performing partners from the past year.
Chris Trevitt, newly appointed general manager of business partner sales, A/NZ, hosted the ceremony along Alister Dias, vice president and managing director, EMC Australia and New Zealand.
Trevitt was recently promoted from his role as regional manager, South Australia and Western Australia for EMC, and will focus on driving EMC’s partner activities in 2014 and beyond.
Trevitt takes over the role of directing EMC’s Business Partner Program activities in A/NZ from Brett Harris who was also in attendance at the awards ceremony.
Harris has recently been appointed leader of EMC’s ACT branch in Canberra. In his new position, he will be responsible for EMC’s Federal Government strategy.
In other awards, Dimension Data took the Signature Partner Australian award; Saxxon IT won Premier Partner Australia and Datacom won Premier Partner NZ.
In the Specialist Partner of the Year categories, Infront won for Unified Storage and Backup and Recovery, while Amcom won for Isilon.
EMC senior vice president, global channel sales, Gregg Ambulos, said he was impressed with the calibre of EMC partners in ANZ.
“It is really exciting to see the innovative projects and solutions our partners in A/NZ are working on with their customers,” he said.
“Australia and New Zealand is paving the way for the rest of world in terms of virtualisation, which is opening up exciting opportunities for our partners and customers moving towards the software-defined datacentre.”
