Sophos Cloud to launch in ANZ on November 25

Global security provider Sophos will launch its cloud solution for partners and end-users in the ANZ region on the 25th of November. According to Karen Delaney, channel director for ANZ at Sophos, the cloud offering, which was recently launched in the UK and US, will provide partners more choice in how they provide end-point security with Sophos.
“Sophos Cloud in ANZ will offer only end-point security to begin with. We are not going to be forcing the partners and customers into the cloud. We are simply offering our partners the ability to sell Sophos employing whichever platform suits their business. However, what we are finding is our multi-platform strategy is affording traditional resellers an easy transition into the cloud,” said Delaney.
Sophos Cloud will initially offer end-point security services through a cloud portal. According to Delaney, eventually other Sophos solutions, such as data-loss prevention (DLP) and encryption, will join the firm’s cloud portfolio.
The cloud offering follows closely on the heels of the firm’s MSP programme, which was launched around the end of September.
“The MSP programme is based on our UTM platform, delivering network security through a single pane of glass. The goal of this program is to make it easy for MSPs to manage and grow their businesses with us. We have around 30 partners in the ANZ region on the program already. We see this as a strong growth area for us since it enables some of our traditional partners to make the move from existing models to the service provision model,” said Delaney.
These programmes are a part of the larger changes in the company and the expansion of its channel team in ANZ, which included the appointment of Delaney as channel director early this year. The Sophos channel team currently has three external managers and three internal managers.
“We have added around 50 partners since I took over the role. However, the story is not just about adding partners. It is about looking to enable our existing partner ecosystem. Our overall sales and technical training is available online and partners can access it in their own time to get the relevant certifications.
“Recently we have conducted the UTM training free of charge, and moved around 50 partner engineers to an architect level free of charge. This is part of our 100 engineers in 100 days programme that is running across APAC and will continue to March next year,” concluded Delaney.
