Consulting and outsourcing services provider, Capgemini, has entered a new global partnership with Palo Alto-headquartered enterprise data management software vendor, Cloudera.
The partnership will bring to market the combination of Cloudera’s Big Data management and analytics platform, powered by Apache Hadoop, with Capgemini’s business information management (BIM) capabilities with the goal of assisting enterprises with Big Data use.
Cloudera’s Big Data platform is designed to enable enterprises to store, process and analyse volumes of data which are an order of magnitude greater than traditional technologies with a broader variety of data types.
“Data has moved to the centre of successful organisations,” Cloudera co-founder and chief strategy officer, Mike Olson, said. “Most enterprises today are still making that transition. They are challenged with quantities of data from a variety of sources that overwhelm existing systems and demand a new approach for processing and analysis.”
“Cloudera’s platform for Big Data…combined with Capgemini’s business intelligence… helps customers capture, store, process and analyse all their data, delivering results and insight to the right place at the right time.”
Capgemini said it supports Cloudera’s vision for enterprise analytic data management through its ‘Big Data Service Centre’, a Big Data delivery framework which leverages Capgemini’s Rightshore approach.
“As data sets become increasingly complex, it is essential for enterprises to ensure that business insights and the actions in response to them are being maximised and not missed,” Capgemini global chief technology officer, Lanny Cohen, said.
The new partnership adds to a two-year relationship which has seen Capgemini work with Cloudera’s teams to enhance its knowledge of the latter’s solutions, and ramp up necessary skills throughout its BIM global practice.
