IN A New Zealand first, Auckland-based Imagetext has been appointed an enterprise-licensing partner by Adobe.

Imagetext MD Darius Mistry is delighted and expects the deal to open up corporate opportunities.

The partnership enables Imagetext to supply Adobe products at a lower price through a contractual licensing programme (CLP).

“We’ll be able to offer substantial price reductions for large licences. I don’t want to go into actual percentages but they will be considerable,” says Mistry.

Technical director for Imagetext John Preisig says the company has worked hard to be appointed to CLP status.

“The CLP status will give us even greater momentum to supply Adobe software in licensed form,” he says.

“We’ve been encouraging our customers to move to a licensed product format. The extra flexibility, security and control make management much easier and cost effective.”

Imagetext, founded in 1984, is an established graphic arts system integrator and the largest professional supplier of Apple New Zealand’s products to the graphics market.

Clients range from advertising agencies and printers through to publishing giants such as APN and Fairfax.

“We are a niche reseller but within that we deal with top colour separation and pre-press clients,” says Mistry.

He says the company has anticipated the CLP appointment all year and has already increased staf-

fing levels to deal with extra business.

“We’ve been Adobe’s top reseller for the last three years in Australasia and won the award for Channel Partner of the Year in 2003.”
