Vignette seeks NZ partners

WITH the appointment of a new manager and promises of great partnership opportunities, content management specialist Vignette is aiming to grow its Australasian business.

Former finance director for Vignette Asia-Pacific Adam Stott has been appointed general manager for Australia and New Zealand and plans to continue the company’s growth through recruitment of partners in the region.

“In the past we’ve experienced significant success in NZ, having worked with a number of businesses on projects involving Fonterra and Bank of New Zealand. I think this is indicative of NZ organisations’ drive to get smarter about how they develop, publish and manage all their enterprise content,” he says.

“A large part of my role is to support and increase growth in the market through selecting the right partners and by working closely with them to give them all the training and support they may need. My intent is to continue this through a leveraged partner model.”

Vignette is currently talking with a number of New Zealand businesses but, as yet, nothing has been formalised. Programme partners currently include Alphawest and Deloitte-Eclipse in Australia and systems integrators Bearing Point in New Zealand.

Stott says Vignette’s acquisition of Tower Technology last year will impact on the channel. “Tower Technology used a direct selling model and had very little presence in New Zealand. Now that Vignette has acquired Tower there are great partnership opportunities opening up.”

Changes have been made to the partner programme that Stott says will enable a high quality of engagement with the right number of key partners. “Originally Vignette worked opportunistically with a large number of partners. This model spread our resources too thin and prevented us from cultivating focused strategic relationships.”
