AS a global partner of the IT Service Management Forum (ITSMF), HP education services conducts training throughout the world, but locally it’s doing more to encourage education.
Unique to HP New Zealand, the company is offering a scholarship worth $8,000 to allow one person to study for an ITSM manager’s certificate through its HP education services.
Jon Wilson, marketing specialist HP Services, says the company fully supports the work of the ITSMF.
“ITSMF gives people the ability to network and learn. Learning is the key which is why HP has put together the scholarship.”
The course runs over three stages in preparation for the service management exams: IT service support, IT service delivery and ITIL service management exams preparation workshop.
Restricted to ITSMF members, entrants must have completed and passed the foundation certificate in IT service management.
“There are a lot of changes going on at the moment. Probably best practice will be front of mind next year due to compliance,” says Wilson.
He says New Zealand is at the early stages in ITSMF and ITIL qualification is the next stage.
“CIOs are getting reduced funding and at the same time are having to show a good return on investment and that’s where best practice comes in.”
