Taking our products to the Brits

ADVANCEMOBILE will distribute Ectus’s Media software in the UK.
CEO Andrew McPherson is keen to take other local products to the international market and says he is assessing a number of technologies.
Advancemobile opened its UK office late last year to take its E2M software offshore and McPherson says it made sense to take other New Zealand products with it.
E2M software gives users the ability to send SMS messages from the desktop to the mobile phone of one or multiple individuals.
“Our focus is on sales and taking products to market so we looked around for other complementary products to make it worth our while over there.”
He sees opportunities for Ectus Media software — which links audio, video, online collaboration and video-conferencing — in content and content delivery applications, video collaboration and education.
Formerly E2M, Advancemobile rebranded in January, keeping the original name for its software offering.
McPherson says the name change came about because he wanted to introduce a new range of products for the mobile and broadband markets.
Mark Topping, Ectus CEO, says this heralds his company’s third international market entry this year.
Hamilton-based Ectus has partnered with Roscor to crack the US market and is working with Asnet in Australia.
Topping says he has been impressed with the wide access Advancemobile has to potential clients.
