Sonicwall enters SSL VPN space

SONICWALL has entered the secure sockets layer-virtual private network (SSL VPN) appliance market with a set of products it claims brings the technology to small and medium-sized enterprises.
Tim Dickinson, Sonicwall country manager for Australia and New Zealand, says the new range’s affordable price point makes SSL VPN technology readily available to SMEs and creates opportunities for resellers.
“By moving into this market Sonicwall is opening up greater revenue opportunities for our resellers and managed security service providers,” he says.
The company says its new family of SSL-VPN 200 and 2000 appliances can support unlimited numbers of concurrent tunnels at no additional cost, claiming these are the first SSL VPN offerings to achieve this.
It says the range simplifies secure access for remote and mobile users as they can log onto their company’s network from a personalised web portal through any internet browser.
Dickinson says making it easier for SMEs to access their company resources remotely is compelling for many of these users.
