Yet another Australian distributor is poised to open its doors here.
Firewall Systems will open within the next six weeks according to the company’s CEO Scott Frew.
Frew says he has recruited a country manager to oversee the local operation and is just waiting for the appointee to finish at their current job.
At this stage Frew couldn’t comment further on the appointment.
Firewall Systems has an impressive track record across the Tasman - in the last 18 months it has gone from nothing to $10 million annual turnover - representing a bevy of security vendors including Trend Micro, Check Point and Crossbeam.
This could yet stir up the distribution market as the majority of Firewall's vendors already have local representation.
Peter Owen, Crossbeam ANZ country manager, says Firewall Systems has strong engineering skills and offers true value add component.
One example of this is Firewall's policy design team that works with resellers to handle lucrative IT security projects, especially those involving outsourced, remotely managed or mult-vendor threat management policy.
