Brocade seeks out midmarket partners

Brocade is seeking midmarket specialist resellers for its expanding range of storage area network (SAN) infrastructure products and wide-area file services (WAFS) solutions.
Australian-based Graham Schultz, Brocade’s ANZ country manager, says the local introduction of its global Alliance Partner Network is a result of the new products and solutions it is offering.
“We’re looking for New Zealand partners in the midmarket space, which is the sweet spot for the evolving SAN base and for the WAFS base,” he says.
Schulz says Datastor has been Brocade’s traditional partner in New Zealand, and prior to adding the new ranges Brocade partners bought from its OEM (original equipment manufacturer) distributors and associates. It had informal relationships with many resellers here as a result, he says, and these global OEM arrangements will remain.
However, the new programme, with enterprise, alliance and ‘Brocade’ accreditation levels, is targeted at resellers.
“Now we’re moving to people with a more direct relationship with us,” Schultz says.
Brocade has recently signed New Zealand security management firm Idata Ltd to offer the Tapestry suite of file and data management products.
Brocade also offers the Silkworm range of switches, routers and software.
