Cisco offers one-stop-shop unified communications

SBCS is a combination of voice, data, video, security and wireless networking products pitched at small and medium businesses. Optional applications are also available. Built on the UC500 unified communications and networking foundation, it will initially cater for up to 16 users and up to 50 users at a later stage.
Local partners will soon be offered Cisco SMB Select certification for voice, which is an add on to the online training under the broader SMB Select certification.
Regional operations and marketing manager Suzanne Hansen says the certification is pitched at smaller resellers, who often don’t have the resources to complete Premier certification.
“These are tier-two resellers who look to a bit of Cisco but maybe don’t have the size of organisation or frequency of sale to do Premier certification. [SMB Select] you can do with just one person.”
The SBCS launch will help cement Cisco’s place in the small and medium business market, Hansen says.
“Through Linksys we’ve had a strong SME presence, but this gives us a specific presence point as Cisco.” She says new Cisco products targeted at smaller businesses will now be launched regularly. Amanda Sachtleben
