TelstraClear secures Gold from Cisco

Cisco has made TelstraClear a Gold partner, following in the footsteps of Australia's Telstra which is the largest Gold partner in Australasia. The status recognises a partner’s skill in Cisco technology, in particular intelligent networks, unified communications, security and wireless. It involves completion of unit standards and an external audit. TelstraClear’s head of Enterprise and Government, Mark Wilson, says the recognition means his company has joined a select group that can sell and support market-leading data networking products by Cisco. “We’ve combined the best of TelstraClear and Sytec (its IT services arm) to become a Gold partner, starting the process at the end of 2006 and being awarded Gold status this month,” Wilson says. “Gold partner status awards the highest levels of benefits in recognition of this, and assures customers of the appropriate skills to provide support to their solutions," he says. A number of TelstraClear staff were trained in Cisco competencies as part of the status award, which is reviewed annually.
Cisco has only four other Gold partners here, including Fujitsu and IBM and Gen-i
