Bluecentral to focus on local channel presence

Australian solutions provider, Bluecentral, has recruited Jason Barker to a newly created role as its sales director, taking charge of channel business across Oceania.
Barker will be based in Sydney, though says his first area of interest is New Zealand where the company is planning to expand through its channel.
“We have a number of partners in Australia who do business in New Zealand and they have been asking us to offer our services to their local customer base.
“Because the country is not very far away we see good opportunities.”
Barker declined to name the companies, citing commercial sensitivity, but he says they are well known.
“We’re looking at establishing a bigger foot print.
“If the business is there then we might possibly look at opening a local office further down the line.”
Barker has about 10 years experience in the industry.
Before joining Bluecentral, he spent one year as a sales manager at US-headquartered mobile email technology company, Seven Networks.
In a statement Bluecentral managing director, Anthony Banek, says Barker would focus on pushing its latest software-as-a-service product – MessageExchange – and also its SharePoint mobility line, which would be offered in white label so partners can re-brand the products as their own.
“Previously, our system didn’t allow us to provide white labelling. With the launch of our new products, our channels will be able to fully white-label and bill with their own company names.
“We see a significant amount of growth happening in that area for us,” Banek says.
