Singapore distribution firm buys out Digitalblue

Singapore-based distribution giant Ban Leong Technologies appears to have bought local AV and accessories distributor Digitalblue, according to Companies Office records.
The records, updated earlier this month, show all 16 company shares in Digitalblue were purchased or acquired by Ban Leong on 20 September.
AV Labs, Digital Concepts Australia, Aquarius Sales and Marketing (based in Australia) and Hong Kong-based Wing Wong previously had four shares each.
Ban Leong distributes multimedia products, data storage and accessories and has more than 15 agencies. It has offices in Singapore, Malaysia, Thailand and Vietnam and distributes to retailers, corporate resellers and system integrators.
Digitalblue was incorporated in 2004. It also appointed an additional director, Australian-based Boyd Dainton, in early October.
Director Jamie Cox declined to comment, while Ban Leong CEO Ronald Teng was unavailable prior to Reseller News’ deadline.
Reseller News reported in June that Digitalblue seemed on the verge of being sold to a Singapore company, at which time Cox said he would be moving to Australia the following month.
