A 20-year veteran of the ICT industry, Christian Fredrikson, has been appointed head of the Asia Pacific region for Nokia Siemens Networks.
Effective from December 1, 2007, Fredrikson will oversee all operations in the region and replace Rajeev Suri, who has been appointed global head of services and a member of the Nokia Siemens executive board.
Fredrikson first joined Nokia in 1994 and has a strong track record of success in sales and research and development roles.
Prior to this appointment he was the head of the operations and business software unit and in earlier roles was head of sales and marketing for the Asia Pacific region.
He played an instrumental role in growing Nokia's market share and business in Taiwan, India, Indonesia and Thailand. In addition, he was the executive sponsor for many Asia Pacific customers while based in Finland.
Fredrikson worked in Sweden from 1995 to 1997, where he headed technical sales support for Nordic countries before relocating to Singapore and taking charge of mobile systems in the region in 1999.
Before joining Nokia, he was an engineer and project manager in an IT department of a Finnish enterprise for five years.
