Christchurch-based Dove Electronics has snapped up Auckland cables and components distributor IT Computer Products.
Dove general manager Chris Rycroft says the acquisition will give the company an edge in the computer peripherals area.
“The decision to buy IT Computer Products came about because [its] director Richard Olsen has decided to retire. We have had a significant supplier/customer relationship with IT Computer Products for some time, so it was a logical step to combine their operation with Dove.”
IT Computer Products was established in 1994 and offers products such as USB cables, switches and CD writers.
Rycroft says the four staff based in Penrose, Auckland will be gradually moved and integrated into Dove’s operations in Onehunga.
“This will significantly enhance our presence in the Auckland market. Our intention is for the integration to be seamless.”
He adds that Dove Electronics looks forward to working with IT Computer Products’ suppliers.
“This will expand our product range, particularly in the areas of cables and adapters, but also in areas such as server cabinets and USB accessories. The deal will provide an overall improvement of our sourcing, stock and supply of these items to our customers throughout the country.”
Dove Electronics has been operating since 1984 and is a privately-owned wholesale distributor of computer components and peripherals.
