Consumer electronics retailer Harvey Norman has picked Anna Johnson, the proprietor of its Wairau Park megastore, as its new local general manager. She will begin in the position next week. Outgoing general manager Luke Naish says Johnson is the logical successor.
“Anna has been in charge of the Wairau Park branch in Auckland for the past four-and-a-half years and is very well known to vendors and suppliers. She has built great relationships with partners and is a highly intelligent business woman.”
Naish has been promoted to general manager of Harvey Norman’s computers and communications unit in Australia, having spent the past five years running the local business.
He says Johnson is a capable leader, adding he is pleased Harvey Norman is appointing someone internally.
“She knows the company and will bring a number of skills to the role, so this will ensure a smooth transition for the business. I look forward to handing over the role.”
Johnson was not available for comment by deadline .
Harvey Norman has 26 local branches.
