Renaissance to launch NEC channel programme

Renaissance Brands is in the process of establishing an NEC channel reseller programme called Frontrunner. This follows its recent move to set up a separate business division to focus on NEC in a bid to deepen its relationship with the vendor.
General manager Mark Dasent says the Frontrunner programme will be designed to expand the number of SME-focused resellers who sell NEC products, as well as boost sales through the already established reseller base.
“We’ve already had 60 resellers purchase NEC, but ideally we’d like to refine that number for Frontrunner and have around 50 very strong partners.”
To date, the company has had most success with NEC among regional resellers that focus on a particular market, says Dasent.
Under the new NEC division Renaissance will now be handling all marketing, demand generation, channel programme implementation, pre-sales and post-sales support, as well as logistics and distribution for NEC.
“NEC has been the number-one PC brand in Japan for more than 20 years and we’re looking to increase its market share locally.”
A national service network, Visual Electronics, will service NEC with offices in Auckland, Wellington and Christchurch, along with a network of service agents to cover regional areas.
Renaissance Brands is also targeting the retail market.
“NEC products are already available through Warehouse Stationary, JB Hi-Fi and Noel Leeming, but we’re in discussions with other retailers,” says Dasent.
