Ingram Micro had stand out attendances at its Wellington and Christchurch Showcase events this year. In Wellington 925 resellers visited the Showcase, while in Christchurch 641 people attended. Auckland numbers remained steady at about 920.
The distributor’s marketing services manager and event organiser Priscilla King says Christchurch attendance usually numbers in the high 500s.
“In Wellington, people came from Hawkes Bay and in Christchurch there were people from Nelson and Dunedin.”
Wellington visitor numbers were up about 150 on last year, after a southerly winter blast deterred visitors in 2007.
One of the exhibitors in all three regions, Toshiba’s Pip Heath, says there were more end-users enquiring at this year’s stand, along with a high quality of reseller.
The vendor drew visitors in by displaying its notebooks, along with a fish tank display that had water flowing onto a spill-proof keyboard.
A total of 54 companies displayed their latest offerings at Showcase, which kicked off in Auckland on July 8, before heading to Wellington on July 11 and wrapping up in Christchurch on July 15. Ingram Micro also hosted 30 technology seminars at each event.
