Body-scanner request from Navy

The New Zealand Navy is on the hunt for a portable 3D body scanner to be used in an anthropometric survey and ongoing research.

Anthropometry refers to the measurement of living individuals for the purposes of understanding human physical variation.

According to request for tender documents released this week, the Navy in Auckland is looking for a vendor to supply the scanner, along with analysis software.

The system should be capable of scanning the body from various angles. The successful supplier will need to offer training and support of the scanner over an extended period of 10 to 15 years.

The deadline for replies is Friday, September 5. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 22902.
