Hitachi Data Systems has appointed distributor Express Data to extend its reach in the small and medium business storage market on both sides of the Tasman.
The distributor’s SMB focus will make the partnership an excellent fit for the vendor, says HDS’ Australia/New Zealand channel director Steve Kelly.
“Express Data’s extensive coverage throughout the region sits well with Hitachi’s growth plans, which include increasing sales volumes for our recently announced Simple Modular Storage 100 (SMS 100) system.“
Along with the Simple Modular Storage system, the range Express Data will distribute includes Adaptable Modular Storage and Workgroup Modular Storage.
Express Data says the partnership brings its resellers a comprehensive storage range.
“Very few storage vendors have designed a customised solution for small business like the Hitachi SMS 100,” says managing director Ross Cochrane. “The simplicity of Hitachi’s offering combined with its enterprise-class functionality has already received great feedback from the SMB community.”
In coming months, the two firms will hold joint technical and sales seminars for resellers interested in selling storage.
Express Data is also a distributor for Sun Microsystems and IBM in New Zealand.
