Zintel posts 6 percent revenue increase

Local communications provider Zintel Group reported an increase in revenues for the first half of the year, despite the economic downturn.

Zintel’s sales were up by 6.6 percent on the same time last year, a result managing director Peter Revell attributes to the company’s focus on diversifying its offering to the New Zealand and Australian markets.

He says Zintel Communications has been successful in providing its toll-free customers with additional tolls and business-line services. Zintel’s enterprise operation has expanded its product portfolio, signing partnership agreements with global technology companies Aastra and Alcatel-Lucent, as well as the addition of GMT Planet Workshop Management suite for contact centres and Juniper data networking products.

Revell says Zintel has no debt and with almost $7 million in cash reserves, it is actively looking for further opportunities to expand.

Zintel chairman, Nick Gordon, says he expects the second half of the year to be just as strong for the company.

“We expect a profit result that is similar to last year’s full year result for the year ending 31 March 2009, which will be very pleasing in the current economic environment,” says Gordon.
