SAP cuts ANZ jobs, won't reveal local figures

SAP has cut a little under 40 jobs from its 550-strong Australia-New Zealand workforce, spokesman Peter Sertori told The Australian.
However, he was unable to say if any of the affected roles are in New Zealand, telling Computerworld that “for simplicity reasons, we refer to it as ANZ”, and that he couldn’t break out the New Zealand component, if any.
SAP employs approximately 30 staff in New Zealand.
The number of positions cut across ANZ is “less than 40”, Sertori says, and the move is part of a global SAP initiative announced last year to cut staff.
SAP is eliminating 3,000 of its 51,000 worldwide jobs, “and ANZ had to eliminate some jobs, in line with that”, he says.
“We’ve had to let some very good people go, who’ll have a good chance of being picked up elsewhere”.
