Revera secures solo deal with Compellent

Revera has become the exclusive local representative for US-based network storage provider Compellent.
Formed in 2002, Compellent already has customers here and aims to expand its global reach through channel sales.
US-based business development manager Ryan Gruening says Revera was chosen for its experience in storage and virtualisation.
“They are the type of aggressive company we look for, they have medium market presence and just fit what we look for.”
Revera marketing director Robin Cockayne says the relationship came about through its dealings with Microsoft. “As Revera has got closer to Microsoft over the past couple of years, we were starting to see Compellent popping up wherever we were going. There was a storage opportunity in New Zealand where [the customer’s] requirements were very specific and had a natural fit for the Compellent product. We got to know Compellent directly and it all went from there.”
Cockayne says his company will be using Compellent’s products in its data centre.
“We’re about to deploy the first unit and we’re excited to get our hands on the technology and reap the benefits. Some of our existing storage customers are just as keen to have their first introduction to the technology as well.”
Gruening says the company is still tracking well internationally despite the downturn.
“It is tough out there, but our story fits pretty well with our ability to save customers money.”
