Datastor adds to virtual backup portfolio

Datastor has continued its emphasis on virtualisation with a new agreement to distribute PHD Virtual Technologies’ esXpress data protection.
Datastor already offers other virtual backup products, but sales and marketing manager Dave Rosenberg says esXpress is another which will appeal to users’ specific needs.
“This is a well-respected backup solution for the virtual environment. We’ve got a few in that space, but it depends on what the customer is trying to achieve.”
Rosenberg adds esXpress plays well into the VMware space. It enables backup and restoration of a virtual environment using an appliance deployed on an ESX server, without additional hardware or software.
The US-based vendor says there is growing demand for virtual data protection and it is making an “aggressive international expansion effort”.
“As organisations continue to rapidly embrace the value of infrastructure virtualisation, they will continue to seek true virtual data protection to deliver the information availability they require. That’s where the value of esXpress prevails,” says executive chairman Joe Julian.
Datastor has also recently adopted two client-based virtualisation products.
