Iomega selects Datastor as second distributor

EMC has selected Datastor to distribute Iomega products to local channel partners.
Iomega is also distributed by Ingram Micro. EMC acquired the storage vendor in May 2008 for US$213 million.
The agreement builds on EMC’s Velocity channel programme, as well as opening up its existing relationship with Datastor by being able to offer Iomega products at the SMB space.
EMC channel manager Vivienne Larsen says the new agreement enables EMC to partner more effectively with resellers.
“This announcement is in direct relation to reseller feedback,” says Larsen.
“Datastor has a history of specialisation in storage – it’s a great fit. Iomega is a leader in innovative storage and network security solutions for small businesses, home offices, consumers and others. We look to build an even bigger presence in New Zealand with Datastor.”
Datastor CEO Dave Rosenberg says partnering with EMC was a logical step.
“We already have a great relationship with EMC via its core product so this continues downstream with a portfolio of Iomega product that is very well suited to the marketplace.”
