Shared public system for National Library
- 31 October, 2009 22:00
The National Library in Wellington is seeking a shared IT system for public libraries.
This is due to consolidation of international library IT vendors. For example, a company called SirsiDynix is expected to stop supporting its old library systems used in 33 percent of local public libraries in the next three to five years
The shared system will operate from a single hosted site that could include both proprietary and open source software. This request for information has been issued for suppliers to create a business case for Councils.
The deadline for replies is Thursday, November 19. More details are available on the Government Electronic Tenders website under ICCNZ reference 27836.
