Key integrators dominate MIS Strategic 100’s NZ 15

Axon, Datacom and Gen-i feature among a list of the 15 most tactically important local IT operators, selected by a panel of industry experts.

The New Zealand list was part of the annual MIS Strategic 100, which also includes a list of 75 global IT companies selected by 30 judges in the Asia Pacific region.

New Zealand judging panel members included IDC country manager Ullrich Loeffler, ICT consultant Garth Biggs, Forrester analyst Tim Sheedy, Air New Zealand CIO Julia Raue and Longhaus research director Sam Higgins.

Axon was joined in the local top 15 rankings by Datacom, Fronde, Gen-i and Intergen. Also among the list was services company Optimation, infrastructure specialist Revera and the Simpl Group.

These companies were joined by fibre optic provider CityLink, software firm Jade and Kordia.

With revenue of $94 million for the financial year ending October 2008, Axon’s customers include Air New Zealand and Kordia, according to the Strategic 100 New Zealand Profiles in CIO magazine. Datacom posted revenue of $609 million for the year ending March 2009, and its customers include New Zealand Post, Air New Zealand and ASB.

Fronde counts several Government ministries among its customers, and had $27 million in revenue for the March 2009 financial year, while Gen-i serves Fonterra, New Zealand Post and Westpac, among others, and has $1.5 billion in revenue, according to the profiles.
