New categories for Maclean Computing awards

Maclean Computing has added more categories and expects increased attendance, at its third annual awards dinner.
Marketing director Andrew Charlesworth says the event recognises and rewards Maclean Computing staff, as well as vendors and partners the company has been working closely with.
The number of awards has grown from five to seven this year, with the addition of a customer service category and a category for the most valuable player. They join existing awards for top Maclean Computing engineer, top salesperson, distributor of the year, vendor of the year and partner of the year.
Among Maclean Computing’s vendor partners are IBM, Microsoft and Cisco.
More than 130 people are expected to attend this year, an increase of 30 on last year. “This year’s ceremony is a step up from previous years and we are expecting it to grow and evolve. It is fostering a closer relationship with all our vendors and partners,” says Charlesworth.
The black tie dinner will be held on April 30 in Auckland at the Royal New Zealand Yacht Squadron.
In addition to its own awards night, the company is a large business category finalist in the Vero Excellence in Business Support awards to be held in May. Maclean Computing was selected for helping business customers to become more competitive.
“With budgets being cut and headcounts reduced it has been a tough year for many of our clients. What we focused on is the use of the latest technology and outstanding support to drive down their costs, whilst maintaining or even increasing performance,” says CEO Chris Maclean.
“This has delivered significant benefit to many of our clients and seen them better placed to grow as the environment improves.”
