Interislander ferries go wireless for project surf
- 01 August, 2010 22:00
The Interislander ferry has operated a wireless hot spot and fixed workstation service for its customers on board the Kaitaki for the past three years. Project Surf envisages that the service will be offered on all three ferries.
It needs a supplier who can design a fleet wide offering factoring the need to scale within each ship.
They will also have to implement ship board routing, networking, wireless and management technology and fixed workstation connectivity across the fleet.
Interislander is not looking for a modification or replacement for the existing ship cellular connections that interconnect the ships LAN to KiwiRail’s network and the internet.
The deadline for replies is Friday, August 6.
