Tegatech hunted down as first A/NZ Kohjinsha distributor

Tegatech principal, Hugo Ortega, said the distributor was chosen for its experience in notebooks and UMPCs.
“One of our other manufacturers is Gigabyte and it makes a consumer range and are in a somewhat similar space to Kohjinsha. The main difference is that Kohjinsha targets a more professional market,” he said.
Tegatech has also previously focused on providing rugged notebooks to verticals.
Kohjinsha’s current Australian range is made up of six UMPCs with tablet functionality. While Ortega acknowledged the product similarities to Fujitsu’s range of tablet UMPCs such as the Fujitsu LifeBook U2010, he said the Kohjinsha’s lower price point, use of a DVD burner and superior touch screen performance provided a solid point of difference.
Ortega said its consumer-focused resellers would benefit from the new brand, but it wouldn’t be providing any promotional material or advertising for Kohjinsha products.
